Investment 1

Let’s talk about investment?

We know the rule of high risk high return, low risk low return. In making investment, we should not put all the eggs into a basket. We should diversified our risk by invest in different series of bonds and share. There are many type of investment such like cooperate bond, unit trust, share, and asset.

I heard my friend talk about Warren Buffet, he is impress by the author word: “Buy in when every people don’t need it, sell it out when every people need it!” This implies to me, high demand high price, low demand low price. We buy in low price and sell it in the high price.

Investment is unpredictable. And we are human being, we have feeling, when dealing with investment, we start to be worried it whether making money or losing money. Worried will always cause us making wrong decision. Because of afraid, we dare not to invest and lost the opportunity. Because of greedy, we get into the trap and we lost everything.

Recently, I talk with my dad, he share with me the idea of investment into share. He remind me that, share should do in long term (3-6years) invest rather than invest in just a few day. Quote a very good example: Malaysia stock market has a style that, buy in after two year of election, sell out when the election days is announce. You look at the Kuala Lumpur Composite Index Futures(FKLI). At Dec 2006, its composite index is around 1050, when on Dec 2007 it reach to 1450, when after election April 08 it drop back to 1250 and will continuous dropping.

What type of share you should invest in, if you really don’t know the market performance? For a low risk taker may consider buy in the Government Cooperate Company, such like TM, Tenaga, Maybank, CIMB and others… Remember to diversify your risk. Why we need investment? Because the inflation is too high (petrol and rice), our salary increment is not able to curb this problem, therefore, investment may be an alternative source of income. It may play an importance rule for you to become rich too.

How about the performance for recent Malaysia market? I get to know that is, the resent politic of Malaysia is not really stable. It is unknown that whether the government will be replaced or not. Therefore, the oversea investors dare not to invest into our Malaysia, because they worried that which party they should have contract with? They are worried, once they sign with the recent government, maybe they will face lost if changing government, because the new government sure will review the contract and reconsider again. If I am investor, sure I will look for politically stable country.

I also get to know that, the earthquake in Si Chuan China had brought the hardest economy time to China. But it is an opportunity for us to invest in China share. Don’t you know that 8-8-2008 Beijing Olympic? This activity sure will bring the highest market performance for China, especially the Tourism Company and Hotel.

So sad that, it is not my time to invest, because I don’t have fund! Hahaha, I think after graduate and work for a year, save lot money and start invest as the Malaysia style. Hope we can share our info from now and then….Advise to all, please not too early get into debt by the credit card or car loan… if you buy a car after graduate, sure you will lost the chance of invest, because you do not have much money to invest later. Why don’t invest share first then buy car after you earn money from it?

Really hope beginning now, we can remind each other not to greedy and give info each other what should buy and what should not invest in…

Engineering and robotic

Lets talk about electrical engineering and Robotic.

Wow, electrical engineering is challenging. We really need a very good in math, electric theory, and imagination. We use all the knowledge that we learn from lectures to solve the demand of human being.

Let say my recent assignment, how to build the automatic vacuum cleaner? The characteristic of this vacuum cleaner is can sense obstacle and turn it path way by it own, nothing can block it. If you put it on the table, it wont drop at the comer of the table.

Dealing with this, we actually divide this machine into 4 main parts.

First is mechanical part or in engineering we call actuator.

Second is sensor.

Third is circuit designing.

Last is programming.

Mechanical part, is the physical look of the vacuum clearer.

The shape is round. Because round do not have edge so it can turn with less friction if it collide with the obstacle.

The motor that is used is shunt 12Vdc motor. A rechargeable 12V battery is use to supply the voltage to the two motors, sensor and PIC.

Sensor, we are using 2 infra red sensors. The intensity of the reflected infrared is use as the data to send to PIC and use to control the movement of the motor. Infrared sensor is used because the sun emission consist less of infrared spectrum compare with visible light. Therefore this can increase the efficiency sensor.

The yellow colour sensor faces to front use to sense the obstacle. Red sensor faces to ground use to sense whether the vacuum cleaner is on the surface of an object(on the table to prevent drop from the high place).

How it turn?

Yellow sensor	Red sensor	Action of vacuum cleaner
OFF	OFF	TURN LEFT until red ON
OFF	ON	GO STRAIGHT
ON	OFF	TURN LEFT until yellow OFF
ON	ON	TURN LEFT until yellow OFF

If the red sensor facing down are ON(receive enough reflected infrared), the vacuum cleaner will move to straight only if the yellow front sensor is OFF(no reflected infrared received). If the yellow front sensor is ON, don’t care the red sensor is either on or off, the vacuum cleaner will turn left until the yellow front sensor is OFF and continue moving straight.

If you put it on the table, how it works?

If the red facing down sensors is ON it will move straight provided the yellow is OFF.. Once the red ground sensor and don’t care the yellow front sensor is ON or OFF, vacuum cleaner will turn to left until red sensor ON again and move straight again.

Remember to put a diode parallel to your transistor to prevent back EMF from motor.

Consist of amplification circuit and also comparator circuit by using op-amp.

We use DIPtrace to draw the circuit and transfer the image onto the copper board.

Programming

We are using PIC16F877A to receive all the data from sensor. We programmed the PIC to send the different output to the difference series of input. Let say if both sensor on ground is on, PIC will sent 5V to activate the connected 2 transistors. 2 Transistors will draw 12v from the battery to activate the both motor. If turning left, the left hand side of the motor is turn OFF and the right hand side motor continue moving. This creates the motion of turning left.

I started to question myself what I am doing now?

It is seem like very confused, I looked like busy but indeed I am not. If someone is busy, their calendar must be full of task, but this isn’t me.

Studying engineering for almost two year, I seem like do not found any improvement from it. Maybe this because of my negative thinking!

I seem like become smaller and smaller... started to feel I am losing my direction…

I fell pain and less confident when

Can only talk a bit about self enrichment

Can only talk a bit about investment

Can only talk a bit about insurance

Can only talk a bit about future

Can only talk all in a bit!

Beginning today, I wan to change! I don’t wan suffer in this type of A BIT anymore!

I think the seven habit highly effective people written by Stephen Covey can assist me by all the way. I agreed to his idea that if you are going to Kuala Lumpur and looking for Midvalley, sure the map of Kuala Lumpur can help you to get to it. But if you taking wrong map, such like Melaka Map, no matter how many hours you drive, for sure you wont get to Midvalley. This symbolizes to us that direction is very very important! If your direction are wrong, no matter how hard you work for, and how positive thinking you are, and never give up, you still cant reach your goal!

I know why the reason I can only talk a bit.

This is because I less of practice talking and sharing with other, all the vocabulary that I use are very rojak and my friends can’t even understand!

From now, I don’t wan suffer in this type of A BIT anymore.

I want to be pro.

I will start reading everything by pronounce it out.

I will start to share knowledge with friends in dialog.

I will search stranger talk about recent and future news. Soft skill is important for our future career.

I felt confident if I wrote everything I know in essay form and put it in this blog!

I wan to change. I wan to success!

Really hope my friends, can get motivated from what I am writing. And hope we can share knowledge among each other.

busy~~ FOR NO REGRET

wah, already half of the year din touch my blog ad!!
hahaha, disappear for such a long period!

university life is very busy.

busy study.
busy activity and assignment.

busy part time for my current goal that is use own money to fund my life expenses. in this half year, really mature a lot. start to use money wisely, jimat cemat, and start to think how the life of future if i din sayang my money.

planned how many year to have car or not to have, motor enough???
plan how much of car i wan to buy?? new car is better than secondhand??
when to start to learn investment?? buy some unit trust or cooperate bond???
inflation is increasing crazyly,value of the money in bank will drop to lesser and lesser...
create you money and dissipline yourself in saving, you will never regret when you grow older...

start to agree that financial planning is important... once mistake that get you into too much debt sure you will regret in a life time!! be humble, if you are rich later, please not to show of and buy expensive car.... or house....
why dont you use the money to help the poor in china... RM350per year can give one china student to survive ONE YEAR LIFE SPENT AND CAN GIVE THEM EDUCATION IN SCHOOL(visit http://www.worldvision.com.my/... )

life is busy but anyway i never regret.... because i learn many lesson whatever i do.
keep moving forward, positive thinking and determination is acceleration of success....
